Customer questions & answers
Question: What type of pad does Keter Bewyon recommend?
Answer: Hello, Yes, you will want to make sure the assembly site is leveled. It’s recommended to construct a wooden or concrete base as a foundation.Question: What is a good methd to hang shelves, etc. on the walls?
Answer: Hello, The shed’s unique characteristics enable versatile wall-mounting options, including shelves, hangers and tracks. Mount hanging accessories on the walls, or screw directly into the walls by drilling into the dedicated slots on the inner side of the panels (see “Drilling into the walls” illustrations in the user manual). Use #10 x 1”/5 mm wood screws only. Do not use nails.
The maximum weight load per screw is 8.8 lbs / 4 kg and per wall section (wall area between any two perpendicular metal profiles) is 77 lbs / 35 kg.Question: How can I anchor this shed to the ground?
Answer: Yes, the floor has places to screw through for mounting. I put two pieces of 4' x 8' pressure treated plywood underneath the shed floor and screwed into them. The plywood is screwed into a frame of pressure treated 2" x 4"s. The 2" x 4"s are mounted to the ground with 18" landscapes stakes. Stone is used fill in the gaps in the frame to allow water to drain away so the pressure treated lumber lasts longer.Question: are the doors made of plastic? Or are there steel bars in the plastic for the doors? I'm looking to install a doggy door so I can't cut through steel.
Answer: Hello, The door panels are made of polypropylene resin plastic. We have metals in the side of each door.Question: What is the Door opening size?
Answer: Hello, Here are the door dimensions: 58.5" W x 71.8" H.Question: Can/should this be attached to a foundation?
Answer: It either needs to be on a cement pad or minimum 2 x 6 pressure treated joists on 10 to 12 inch centers. The disadvantage of the cement pad in the United States is it frequently moves the shed into a permanent structure classification requiring a permit. I cannot speak as to whether some type of gravel pad might be adequate but would be dubious. I used pressure treated 2x6’s with 3/4 pressure treated plywood (screws every 8 inches) and cement blocks dug down to hard pan and below freeze line. Foundation took three days to build. Shed took a v long day to assemble by myself. Follow directions meticulously paying very close attention to the “exclamation point” warnings. Yes should screw the shed down to the foundation so it doesn’t slide around.
