This thing is nice!, and easy to assemble as well. I put it together in 1.5 hrs. I like the bounce/give off the backboard and rim. Really impressed so far with the quality, sturdiness, and overall build of this basketball hoop. It's getting lots of use.

I currently have 2 goals which is supposed to be the same height, but this SILVERBACK lives up it's name. You have a Regular Gorilla and then you have a SILVERBACK Gorilla. The uniqueness of the goal is the reason I was so drawn to it. Moving the goal became so much easier than generic basketball goal. Worth every penny!

The 90 minute assembly claim may be a bit optimistic as others have mentioned, but that's about where my complaints end. The instructions included were very specific and clear, and the assembly process was not awful. It took about 4 hours, which I had expected. You will need a second person for a few steps. The majority of the assembly can be done with one person and sawhorses. The whole hoop feels solid. It is fairly easy to move with two people. It doesn't seem like it will tip over. The frame bracing seems like it has the center of gravity spot on. This hoop is also the easiest to adjust hoop I have experienced. I alternate between 8.5 feet for the kids, and 10 feet for adults. It takes seconds and doesn't require a ton of strength. This hoop has been well worth the purchase price, and seems to be a good deal sturdier than other cheaper brand name options. I love it, my kids love it, and it has performed well. If you do buy this hoop, make sure you have deep socket sets for mounting the rim. Standard depth will not get the job done. Otherwise an adjustable wrench and socket set will do most of the required steps.

Picture is us installing a paver court specifically for this basketball hoop. We have 4 basketball players in the home, and it gets used almost every day without fail. Pros: -does not move or shake when basketball hits backboard. This is solid construction. -frameless backboard blends in better with surroundings, looks nicer than the hoop we had previously -not difficult to raise or lower. Takes a little muscle, but I prefer the young ones not being able to mess with it. Very sturdy mechanism. -the wheelbarrow type base is much easier than our previous hoop to maneuver. Before, we’d pull on the pole and need someone very strong/or 2 people to ensure backboard didn’t fall forward. Silverback design is smart to spread the distribution of weight to manage. Cons -does take time to setup, but that is expected. No other cons beside that. It is a well made basketball hoop and we would recommend this to anyone without hesitation.

I set this up on a new concrete pad where a pool once sat in the rear of my backyard. The assembly is challenging, even the most skilled craftsman I do not believe could do this in 90 minutes. Took me more like 6 hours including breaks. 80% of the job I did myself but when it gets to holding/balancing/and securing the backboard you really do need someone else. While a challenging build, the directions were excellent and the holes all true. Plus, the hardware was marked and pre-packaged so everything very easy to find. I filled with water as I don’t anticipate ever doing anything like dunking on it so should be plenty sturdy for non dunking use. I also live in cold climate so plan to add some pool antifreeze come winter. All in all, one of the best portable options out there in my opinion.

I set this up by myself, which was manageable but not easy and took about three hours. The instructions are great. As others have noted, the support rods at the base make the ball bounce off at unpredictable angles. We had an old crib from IKEA and found that the headboard fits the base perfectly and makes a good kickback.

The package came early and since it was a surprise gift for my son that we could not hide, I opted to assemble myself instead of waiting the full week for the scheduled assembly by a professional. Assembly took me 3.5 hours from unopened box to first shot. The instructions were very clear and I appreciated the step-by-step including when to tighten bolts. My wife helped hold things once the base was tipped over to install backboard and rim, but otherwise, this was a one person job. I have not yet filled the base with sand or water as I am considering the trade-offs between the two. I may also try moving it to a few different spots on driveway. The height adjustment is easy. My 8 year old daughter is moving it constantly. She likes to shoot at 10 feet while most everyone else likes it at 8. The best traits of this hoop are its looks (we have had many compliments already by friends visiting on Memorial Day weekend) and ease of assembly. My son loves it and that is what really counts.

So far, I am very impressed and I'll update on durability as hoop gets tested. I put this whole together in under 2 hours. First thing I did was lay out and identify all parts and retrieved tools needed to assemble. Once I confirmed all parts were present, all that was left was following the instructions. I filled the base and wheels with water as recommended. I need to inquire if the water freezing wouldn't negatively impact the base integrity but can always add antifreeze. I used a ladder and big trash can as support given I put it 2gether by myself while boys were still snoring...lol but the instructions were clear and simple. Pay attention not to over tighten bolts and nuts. Great hoop...... only knock, at this price range, Silverback should include parts needed to assemble hoop because not everyone will have said tools.

I've had this hoop for about a month and so far I really enjoy it. It looks great and adjusts the height easily. The installation instructions were very good, but it did take me about 4-5 hours to get it all together by myself. Previously I had a smaller goal that would blow over with strong winds and get damaged as a result. Even with filling the base up with water, I also bought some tie down straps used for trampolines to keep this thing from moving. We've had some 20-30 mph winds over the past few weeks and this thing doesn't even budge! Definitely get strap it down so you don't risk damaging it. All in all it's been exactly what I hoped it would be and highly recommend it.

It's a beautiful assembly, the backboard holds up well, and the instructions are amazing -- 3 hours of labor (a lot of careful reading). It's like having a professional installer talk us through step by step with clear visuals and no typographical/grammatical errors. They even tell you what size socket to use for each part, how much to tighten, how much thread to reveal after tightening, how much to back off. Any mallet tapping was gentle and a fair number of the sub-assemblies were pre-assembled. They even design the box so that it can be used as a saw horse. We didn't need to reference the video -- accessible via QR code. They have almost thought of everything. I'd recommend though that they provide a dip stick with markings to indicate where 75% full would be (ballast and wheels). The bolts for the rim attachment are longer than necessary which means a deeper socket than what might be in your typical set. The parts used in the assembly were packed just like the photo of the spare parts shown. Quality stuff that did not strip. No brute force required. Cover your saw horse to prevent scuff marks.
